How Your Attitude Can Change Your Experience of Aging Patricia D'Antonio

Episode Summary

Statistically, people fear Alzheimer’s more than death! But what if I told you that there was a practice that can significantly reduce your chance of getting Alzheimer’s by reframing your thoughts? Today’s guest, Patricia D’Antonio, has a lot of great answers for us.

Episode Notes

Today’s guest, Patricia D’Antonio, is the Vice President of Policy & Professional Affairs of the Gerontological Society of America, Project Director Reframing Aging, has a BS from Duchanne and an MS from Temple, and a board-certified geriatric pharmacist. On today’s episode, Tricia and I discuss changing mindsets and attitudes towards aging, ageism, and age stereotypes - and the surprisingly positive results for everyone when those mindsets change. Aging happens to all of us, and we can choose how we think about it - from buying age-positive birthday cards to research and public policies that benefit us all.
